Describe your studio and what you do there.
Our design collective is comprised of 3 artist/designers: Mary Kysar, Topher Sinkinson and Hanna Durighello. Tara Shirriff is our office manager and keeps everything running smoothly. We started makelike in Portland, Oregon in 2000. Since then we have worked together, and individually, to generate art direction, graphic design, pattern design and illustration for publishing, editorial, marketing, retail, exhibition, product development and identity/brand applications.
We also collaborate on our own line of hand-screenprinted wallpaper and other luxury goods for the home (available in our online shop) and at retailers around the country.

Can I hire you to illustrate, design and print a custom wallpaper for my interior project?
Yes, in fact we would love nothing more than to do this for you. Cost is determined by complexity of the pattern and illustration-style desired, amount of colors printed, and the amount of rolls you anticipate needing for your project. There is a 12-roll minimum.
What are your shipping terms?
Shipping is an additional charge and will be added to orders in the shopping cart.
Prices are calculated depending on the weight of the item. We use US Postal Service within the continental United States (arrival in 3-4 days) and DHL international for the rest of the world. Overnight or 2-day FEDEX service is available upon request for an additional charge.
Most orders will usually ship within 2 business days of item purchase. For custom printed items (such as wallpaper) this time may be longer depending on print turnaround times.
We accept payment via credit card using paypal (makelike a store).
Can I return something I ordered at your online shop?
If for any reason you need to return or exchange anything, please note that we offer returns for store credit only and all of our wallpaper is final sale.
Returns must be authorized within 7 days of delivery or will be returned to sender at the senders expense.
Returned items must be unused and in original condition.
Please send items back by insured mail with a copy of your receipt.

And what about color accuracy?
We have done our best to display the colors of the products shown on this website as accurately as possible. However, because the colors you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any color will be accurate. For this reason, we offer samples (for purchase) of our wallpaper and encourage you to purchase the colors you are interested in prior to ordering rolls of wallpaper.
How do I hang and care for my wallpaper?
makelike wallpaper is hand screenprinted and made with care, as with most specialized products it requires professional installation. In order to protect your investment we strongly recommend that you hire a professional wallpaper hanger to install your paper. A wallpaper professional will have long tables and ensure perfect trimming and pasting. All of our papers come with a 1/2” to 1” border that will need to be correctly and accurately trimmed before the paper is installed. A professional will also be able to accurately match the pattern of your paper during installation (which can be no easy task). And a professional will also measure your room or wall before your project begins to insure you buy enough wallpaper for your project. OK then…Happy hanging.
